Richard trained as a professional chartered status engineer CEng, with follow-on qualifications at MSc and MBA at Cranfield University, School of Management. Subsequently he participated in the development of qualification-based programmes for the Ministry of Defence. In the following period he specialised in private sector mergers & acquisitions at group corporate level with GKN and in the redevelopment management of four product divisions in the Tube Investments Group. Following the successful completion of phased development of an international leisure marine manufacturing and distribution company. Through a growing interest in government financial support for business growth and regeneration he was appointed Under Secretary Industry Adviser for Scotland. Later he became Regional Director for the seven Middle East Gulf States in the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, an organization specialising in down-stream oil and gas business development projects. On his return to the UK he continued his interest in strategic organizational development for business as an independent top management consultant, developing further world-class experience in the design and delivery of innovative in-company learning organization management processes in both the private and public sectors. Richard's work is widely published and it is true to say that he has pioneered a number of major demand-led management and business value-enhancing process innovations including the international Corporate University Blueprint. Richard is a leading authority on the nature of the management dynamics that contribute to a successful outcome and is retained as visiting Professor by three university business schools to give advice on the design and delivery of high business value executive management programmes.
